I've just bought two new kites for this season and I'm not 100% happy with the bar/line as supplied.
I bought the matching bar for my 10m but held off for the 8m due to a strange problem with twisting lines.
I'm able to fly my kites on prob any bar on the market, so any body got the scoop on what would be considered the no 1 best ever bar. ![]()
i am currently using Air rush bar. The lines haven't stretch after 4 months. The quick release is easy to use and put back. cheers. I have Naish Universal and Liquid Force bar as a backup. I prefer the air rush because on my opinion will last longer.
The new 4 line North bar now releases to a single front line. Waiting for them to hit the shops here as I'm considering getting one to replace my Naish bars as I prefer the depower and below the bar swivel of the North Bars.
New Liquid Force Response bar looks real nice I am waiting for one with my new kites. I do like North bars and they have good safety system but I don't think they wear as well as other bars out there.
I have always had a list of bar characteristics what i want and so far airush is top noch. Airush bar is really nice above bar depower, oh **** handles, ruber coating lines on bar throw, can hook in suicide with safety still active, heaps of bar adjustment size, line adjustments 10m 15m 18m 21m 24m, good size chicken loop, can rotate donkey dick out of the way which is nice and clean for unhooking only negative in the swivel dosent work all the time. New naish bars are simmilar. Liquid force bars imo are shi t house not aware of new ones. Safety dosent work all the time u lose chicken loop, huge bar end winders, crap below the bar depower the swivel is pretty good tho
The bar and lines which have the swivel above the bar in a bearing setup don't work properly. The slingshot bar is one that comes to mind. After doing a few loops/rolls the front lines twist up. In theory the swivel/bearing should turn and unwind the twist but this rarely happens. I use to have either roll/loop the other way to counter the twist or fully depower the kite and pull in the front lines to grab the swivel and turn the bearing to unwind. Hard to-do and if not careful the kite may roll onto its back and potential get a line twist. My opinion it the below the bar swivel is the way Togo. My North one worked well but the bar fell apart in ONE!!! year when all the glue came off the bar. Ended up with a aluminium pole with no grip.
