Hi guys
I just wanted to share my experience of the rpm 12m 2015

So I did the classic mistake of buying a whole quiver of rpm's without even testing one ( yes I know this is not recommended )

I don't have anything to compare it to except my kahoonas . But I won't lie I was a little nervous on launching because I've heard all the talk about c style kites and mentally I put this kite into that bracket.

Owe man , what a kite , I am so so stoked with this kite , the turning is like nothing I've ever flown before it feels even faster than a 10m bandit I flew the other weekend.

I ride a shinn speedball and have crossed over from surfing so I enjoy carving and powered turns .
This kite and I just worked together perfectly after about 30mins I felt pretty comfortable with the setup , I personally felt jumping and boosting was easier on the rpm but this is probably down to my tecnique more than anything .

I have finally found a kite that I can grow old with and my wallet feels safe knowing that I won't be searching for the next kite.
Only point I would like to mention is that the low end grunt is not like the kahoonas , but the fast turning speeds make up for it .

I am so so stoked

Just wondering why you bought them from the uk , was it cheaper to import due to Aussie dollar ???

Sorry should have said , I'm based in uk but this seems to be one of the most active forums .
But the prices I got here in uk are amazing

I bought 8, 10, 12 and now on the hunt for a 6, I was concerned that the sizes were to close but after flying the 12 I think the wind range is narrow enough to have made the right decision by going for 2m increments

They are a really great kite.... i use mine for surf, flat water.. everything!!

I bought a 14m first (new) and was so impressed i added the 12, 9 and then 6 (all second hand).
They are such a well built kite, that i figured a second hand version would be fine.

The only enhancement i made was for surf riding, and that was to shorten the lines to 20m on the largest bar.
Allows me to get a really fast turn on the 14 and 12.

I was a bit sceptical about the 20 inch bar for my whole quiver so I might just cut it down to 18 and then it should be better for the smaller kites also

But I'll see how it goes

I have been on the 2015's and love them too.
Don't think they have a narrow wind range at all. 9m I use anywhere from 19kn and not killing myself in low 40's.
I think freestyle is more important to have a closer quiver to be perfectly powered through the loop etc..

Not many kahoona fans about then ?
I don't regret learning on them and don't think I would have progressed as fast as I have with out them
But damn I love the rpm

I too love the RPMs. My 9m and 7m are awesome. I do however recon they are not a good design for light wind. I bought a 13.5 kahoona for light wind which I find great for 8 to 12 knot conditions.

I ride my 14rpm when the other lads are on zephyrs. So I don't think the low end is too bad

I ride my 12m with 25metre lines no problem would not cut the bar if I was u just buy a smaller bar with shorter lines or use the 8m bar with 23metre lines

14m RPMs are shocking in light wind. They sit too far back in the window so don't give good up wind ability in light wind. They also are hard to re-launch in sub 10knot conditions. You are better off with a bow type of kite more specific to light wind.

Sorry I misinterpreted the kahoona comment .

I've got the 15m ts for light wind , had it out in 17knts the other weekend , very interesting as I only weigh 62kgs

Might have to buy another bar then I guess as I think the 8m on a 20inch bar will be to much of a handful ?

kiting in sub 10knot conditions is shocking.... its not the kites fault..

ps, i have a zephyr and hydrofoil for kiting in the lightest of seabreezes, but prefure:-

14M RPM for >10knots.

12m RPM for >17.5knots.

10m RPM for >25knots.

8m RPM for >32.5knots.

Amazing Kites, ive flown RPMs for last couple of years and havent had any problems...

fly as many kites as you can, find kite that suits your style and local conditions.

Had the 10 out yesterday , was riding down the line of some small 3ft waves on my speedball , I found it just sits so perfectly on the supplied setup . Problem is I think I'm even more addicted to kiting now that I got some proper performance kit
