**** me im confused what year it is... they say years get shorter as u get older bur that ****ing ridiculous
It's good, but not pivoty or fast enough for waveriding. Has anyone got any recommendations for a really fast kite? I want a 13m that turns like a 5m. I love my 5m!

extend your bar dude! rivet at least an extra 6 of inches onto each side. your kite will be so twitchy you won't ever know where it is or what it's doing. perfect for waveriding!
Obviously not a legit wave kite, forgive me if I'm wrong but at 20 or so seconds in I do believe Robby Naish is using footstraps and unbelievably he is hooked in!!! What is this sport coming to?

Robbie Naish is a kook, kooks use straps.
The end.![]()
I wouldn't say Robby is a kook, I have the upmost respect for everything he's done Windsurfing, the guy is a legend in many respects! I can't say I've ever seen him do anything notable/ worth watching on a kite though... that's life I guess.p.s. Stamp, how would I go about extending my bar? and do you think if I slipped some bits of PVC pipe over the end to make it longer it would work?

Here you go then-
July 29, 2003 . . . Robby Naish has just set a new Official World Speed Record for kiteboarding with a speed of 38.47 knots. This World Record Time is recognized by both the International Sailing Federation, and the Commissioner of the World Sailing Speed Record Council.

Sadly my poor effort at sarcastic humour has now backfired and as was so eloquently pointed out I too am a kook, as I have also been known to use straps, and when my arms get tired I too have hooked in, but I shall seek solace in therapy and take comfort that Robbie is also a kook!:-)
yeah, hooked in strapped is way better...
i love those dangly surfboard kook boosts.
and those spinny strapped back rolls.
anti-kook.![]()
Why all the strap hating I like straps so
Much that I have Incorporated them into other parts of my life.
I put straps on the pedals in my car and then Sometimes when I'm coming up to a roundabout I unhook by taking my seatbelt off so I can free my body up through the turns
So much good info on the pivot....
No comments like:
wow it doesn't look like a whole lot of C in that canopy I wonder if it really does loop that well. Or
Yeah looks a little bit like the slingshot rally I wonder if it will be as good in the waves.
Nope not on good old seabreeze, just the usual crew bitching about all the **** that doesn't matter.....
That guys a kook
Strapped vs strapless
TT vs surfboard
Unhooked vs hooked
Blah blah blah
Anyway you can all red thumb and have a go now. Not even sure why I bothered to reply at all coz I'm sure it's exactly what's gonna happen.

Who would ask those questions about a wave kite anyway??? 1. Wave kites aren't C kites and aren't really made for doing loops and 2. Who would want their kite to be anything like a Rally
. hahaha.
just started to watch the video...
haha, i love their spin re wave riding styles.
it doesnt matter if you work the kite or park it; "the pivot is the best allround kite on the market".![]()

Is it just me or do Naish seem to have a lot of do it all type kites on the fly at the moment no pun intended
, the canopy outline almost looks identical to the ride on the website
just another Delta wannabe 3years after everyone else had a go!
looks like Crazy Fly Sculk eek!
way better cosmic Hawaiiin graphics tho!
... looks like the Pivot is Naish's answer to the Dice!
Personally I reckon it looks great. Not my usual taste in kites but I'd still love to try it.

Having ridden the kite for two weeks in Maui as well, firstly Puetz it flies nothing like the Dice.
kitepilotoz - we used to sell Crazyfly Sculp's up until 2013 and I don't think they're even in the same league (sorry CF).
Prawndog - the Park has been pushed more towards the C-kite end of the spectrum than previously so now if you're a wave rider wanting to do some freeriding, go the Pivot. If you're a freestyler wanting to do some wave riding, go the Park. If you want a sheet and go kite, Ride & if you wanna boost something massive, that Draft is insanely good. If you switch between the kites all on one day, you'll pretty quickly see where everything fits.
We were riding in gusty, choppy water with some chest high on/cross on waves out on the reef and the kite was right at home. Drifting was as good as anything on the market, couldn't backstall it to save my life and wasn't getting pulled off the board when throwing it around the window.
As always, if you're in the market for a new wave / freeride kite, DEMO! You may be slightly suprised stoked.
Plug - we have a 7m demo in the van ready for the next windy day plus Parks & Torchs ![]()

Man, this is pure poetry. And funny. Are you channelling E.E Cummings by any chance? ![]()

... I didn't say it flies like a Dice,,,,, I thought it 'might' just be the answer to the Dice and its popularity, a do all kite!!! Anyway, just guessing is all. Naish sure do make a hansome kite !!! ![]()
