Promotional video for the release of the 2014 Axis Tranq.

An all new board for Axis designed by Adrian Roper and Myself to appeal to those who like fun. Graphics on the board are a selection of photos I put together that help get me motivated to ride and give off a general Tranq vibe.

Video shot in various locations in Australia ranging from Sunshine Coast, Queensland to Melbourne, Victoria.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this video possible, including the people that built some of the rails in it such as Declan McCarthy, Chris Wardell and others, it wouldn't be possible without you guys!

What is this new trend with the snowboard bindings? I've seen a few dudes riding with them lately, does it bring a plus?

Cheers guys! Dunno what you're talking about Default... no WA footage in there as far as I'm aware .
The bindings are actually the Hyperlite System wakeboard bindings, although they are almost identical to snow bindings they are optimised to work in the water. I think they are sick for kiting because they are easy to get in and out and most iportantly for me the back of the binding itself stays stiff forever, which is what I hate about conventional bindings (they get floppy).

p.s.
Dunno what happened with my first post or this post, but everytime I post it all the sentences that were spaced apart end up back together again... any ideas anyone? (Laurie)

Are they all made to ordered or do you have stock anywhere that we can have a look?
I'm getting close to needing a new board

With the hyperlites can you see them being an issue if needing to do a deep water pack down and swim in?

looking smooth rowdy.
maybe it's my old bung eyes, or maybe it's the angle of the shoot, but the board looks pretty flat between the feet.
how much rocker does it have, and is it continuous?

Cheers fellas!
Any shop that stocks axis should have them in stock. The size is 141 x 43 but the billy pro and bootleg are basically the same board for smaller riders. Where are you located?
The board has continuous rocker line at 5.5cm.

Looks awesome Adrian,

Where in Brisbane can you have a look at one of these, I was at kitepower the other day and they were saying that the bootleg are extremely hard to get a hold of right now, i can imagine the same would be true for the tranq? What lead times are you looking at?

Hi Greggor,
We have stock of both in our Asia warehouse and our US warehouse. I know Surf FX ordered quite a few and Kitepower SYD has stock. Not sure Kitepower QLD ordered any so far?

No problem at all. Same as with snowboard bindings getting rid of them is way faster than getting in which is good from a safety point of view. They work well with the Axis boards but don't quite work too well with a few other brands.

They are a bit of a pain in the ass to swim in, but if you need to deep water pack down you can just remove them from feet and strap them to board for the swim in. I like the idea in them that you can have a couple of boards if you have two sets of those binding bases and swap as need be for conditions without tools, or swap with mates etc, use one board between a few people (more for riding on boat). and as rowdy said boot stays stiff and doesnt become floppy over time.

What happened to all the other good kiters in Oz? Are you the only guy still kiting from back in the day? Good to see you kept at it.

I hope to get another wave vid out soon, maybe try and do something a bit better this time, not sure when though... Could be when I'm in Morocco .

As for the "other guys" most of them just got sick of it or moved on to other things I guess, lot's of them Snowboarding, Wakeskating or Surfing still but it seems like most of them don't really have the time or patients to kite anymore.

I woulda said demented rather than stupid, and yet the scientific nature of the flex test is beyond question.
