After going through 250Gb of footage, here is our video from 2013 NZ snowkite trip. It was an epic season and it was good to see the footage again. New Zealand see you in August

Awesome stuff - makes me want to break out the snowboard right now and fly to the northern winter somewhere white and powdery.. thanks for sharing.

Looping the kite to ride uphill!! never pay for lift tickets again.

Cheers for sharing.

Can you tell us the spot?

Maybe a google maps link?

Hi All,

Thanks for the comments.

We are usually staying in Wanaka.
There are 4 spots around :

- Snowfarm (need to check with land owner and NZ kite association to pay the yearly access fee. Last year was 65$)
- Cardrona
- Old man range (4wd access)
- Old woman range (4wd access)

Those spots are really huge but the terrain might be hard to access sometimes and it takes time to discover where you can go.
Some of the footage was taken 30km from the carpark. There is no road next to it so you have to be prepared for everything that can happen up there.
There are not many locals snowkiters but always good to talk to them.

Ride safe

And get ready for a long walk back to the carpark in 2ft of powder when the wind dies....
