You can get one for $149 from xensr.com. Not sure where you got the $12,000 cost number from, but you are misinformed.
looks like the $12,000 was for the jet board that was posted on Twitter by Xensr, thought 12 g was a bit steep
have supa slow internet here

haha, no worries.
We're trying to figure out when we can all jet down to AU and do a demo in your hemisphere. ;-)
Hey that looks like a fun little gadjet - this is how they measure Height...
Quote: How are jump heights measured and how precise is it?
The XensrCase is looking at your motion 400 times every second. It?s examining your G loading (acceleration) in all 3 axis, your angles (gyro), keeping track of where the Earth is (GPS + magnetometer) and watching the air pressure. All of this data is used to determine your precise 3D location, and also watch for jump events.
Many assume that Xensr?s TruMotion? technology uses the altimeter for jump heights ? this is incorrect.
Xensr computes your jumps based on movement data ? for water sports, the XensrCase is sealed against water in an airtight case, thus preventing any reliable air pressure changes to be measured rendering the altimeter useless. The 3D measurement from TruMotion? gives jump height data to less than one inch of precision. Sometimes it?s as precise at 3mm and averages around 1cm of precision. At worst, it?s 1 inch of precision, so that?s what we use for our precision claim.
Having read the above - Does the Xensr have 'Official' approval as a speed / height recording device for World competition...
What is the warranty on it and what is it Impact rated at for obvious mega jump crashes ???
Will be uber popular with the KOOKS this device.

Can I suggest 14th december for Perth
On that day we will be having a little race called Redbull L2L, get in touch with the organisers and maybe have some demos happening for all the spectators while the race is on ![]()

Great questions!
Currently, we're approved by Guinness and you'll see some world records posted this fall in multiple sports.
With regard to the precision - we're going to be posting up our "mythbuster" videos shortly - we take the XensrCase against scientific methods
to show you that we're accurate, but what's really going to shock some is just how inaccurate GPS really is.
The bottom line is that there is error in any system, but it comes down to precision and accuracy. There is no zero or absolute, so keep
that in mind.
Of course, seeing is believing and if you take a look at some of the other posts I've put up with the kite jump video with the data 2D overlay, you
can visually see that they're spot on. ;-)
As for warranty, its 90 days for manufacturing defects, and as for impact rating, we've had impacts from riders in excess of 20G's with no ill
effects.
Someone said something about GPS tracks. How about 3D GPS tracks! ;-)

Looks great! Though what we'd like to do is hold a big air comp and see how high you aussies can booooost! ![]()
Xensr - thanks for the reply, it sounds like youve got a great product and actually thought about real kiting.
Save one for me - though just one question.. Will i be able to get a refund if my huge 20ft jumps turn out to be 5ft :(

Kiters have better perception than, say, windsurfers. But everyone thinks their going higher than actual. ![]()
Did anyone else read that heading wrong ![]()
Your getting your websites mixed up Moons ![]()
It looks good. But I would kill myself trying to go just that little bit higher than the last jump!
Then when I get the reading and it states 8foot instead of the 20 my eyes are bull****ting me. How can I talk myself into thinking I am higher than I actually am?
Does it have a bullshiit setting that adds 10 foot to the height so you can lie through your teeth to your buddies and pear pressure them in attempting insane boosts?

Do you have a kite mount for it?
I'm a kook and want to claim a 27m boost just for launcing my kite! ![]()
