Hi guys,
we have had quite a lot of interest/inquiries in the divisions of the Juniors and the younger riders.
Questions is:
Should we have a division for the groms 15 and younger or have them included in the Juniors?
Thanx for your input.
Hey itl,
Im 13 years old, and i will be going!
Yes i think it will be alot easier for the guys who are 12/13/14yrs to compete in a under 15's rather than them have to compete against under 18's.
It would make it alot easier and funner!
hi intheloop
it will be great if you could do a under 15 groms as it will be a lot funner and more groms will enter.
as a 12 year old competing against a 18 year old, theres just to much of a disadvantage.
If you get enough under 15's it would be great. It would give us groms a chance against others of the same age.
good idea Marvin if you can handle the logistics - theres some groms coming from my way but their concerned about the age groups - i strongly support your idea.
And wat happens to the other juniors who have had to battle it hard against older guys for years? bit unfair in my opinion
you may be young but many groms i know can give many older juniors a run for their money so i disagree and believe it should be more competitive at the younger level
if you do cap the age very young it could also have the oppisite effect and make the groms lazy
my 2 cents
Hey guys
I was most likely not going to come up as i am a 13 year old kitesurfer and would not had of stood a chance against guys that are 18 and been kiteing for a lot longer than i have. I will come up for the event if there was a u15s category
Hi guys,
after talking to lots of people including AKSA and putting heaps of thoughts into this we have decided that we will run a Grom division for 14years and younger to give these young riders the best/fun start to enter the competition mode.
However, on a international level (PKRA/KTA) there is only one division and that is OPENS! We are trying to follow the format of these international tours but want to support our youngest riders as much as possible and encourage them to progress and bring their skills to the events from a young age which will result in having top riders in later years to come from Australia.
Please spread the word.
We see you at the nationals in June ![]()
