hay guys just startn out in kitesurfing hope you dont mind if i come here to pick ur brain can any one tell me what the diffrence or benifits are of useing wakestyle bindings or foot straps cheers
bindings are comfortable, supportive and your feet stay in, foot straps are good for learning though as can get in and out easily. liquid force have new footstraps that have laces as to do up tight and help keep feet in. have fun kiting
everyone is saying bindings.... I too came from a wakeboarding past and found bindings the go, I have since reverted to footstraps. When you are learning you need to find the eject button really fast. Having bindings eliminates this form of escape (you can kick the board off real easy with straps). I would recommend straps. I guess it comes down to where you will be riding combined with personal preference... surf or flatwater. Each have there own advantages and disadvantages.
how about when ur a beginner and start off with straps and have to chase your board around every 3 seconds if u stack. could get annoyin
I would probably say start out with straps then when you progress and find your way of riding, whether it's unstrapped surfboard waveriding, freeriding, or freestyle, try it all and then decide. I have one board with bindings and one without and most of the time bring them both cause it can be nice to get out of the bindings now and then..
Gl and welcome to the sport
Personally i don't understand why people say it's too easy to come out of straps.
I can't remember the last time i came out of mine unintentionally. If you clamp your toes and have tight footpads it's so hard to come out.......
It took me a while to adjust to straps after several years of bindings. My feet came out all the time whenever I tried to pop. Straps give you much better technique popping rather then bindings as the pop needs to be clean in order for your board to stay on your feet. But for a beginner who is not doing airs... man there is no way your board is gunna come off your feet, and there are enough dangers to contend with when learning without tying your feet to a 1.5m weight. In regards to tide, IMHO learning to bodydrag upwind should be learnt before you can even ride the board.
yeh tru that homie u will have to gym it up every day just to be able to get ur legs above your shoulders..
ride straps untill u can go upwind easily then ur ready for boots.
yeah ryan that made no sense wat u said about weight n heel side **** haha.
ps. gym everyday and u too can pull off, i mean pull up** every session with ease.
