The correct weight was 1.60kg, and correctly guessed "Rebel", who lists himself as a 16yo kiter.

Great to see a prize go to a young fella! (not that there's anything wrong with being an old fella )

Cheers to all that entered - that was fun!

Congrats Rebel.
So, that was the weight of the 2004 model.....
What's the weight of the new model ?
That's the punchline, right ?
.....the object of the comp ?
The 2008 board must be pretty light.

It's interesting to note that the recorded dates are expressed in the American-style of month, day, year.
Has Seabreeze gone 'seppo' following 9/11 ?
lol.

Damn, I was so close - I made a spreadsheet of lots of sizes and weights of boards that I could find from the net to come up with the average weight per square cm of board....

I think I guessed 1.64

I know it sounds a bit out there - but it only took me about half an hour and I did it during work time - I had to do something kiteboarding related seeing as there has been a lack of wind here. Put it this way, the effort nearly won me the board.

You are such and Engineer Sunseeker!! ..........I like your style!! I hope you charged the time to your favorite client too!!

You should have done a Polynomic logarithmic multidifferential calculus inversion to correct for the tachyon shift of probability and you would have had the answer!!

But - 10kg's as a guess for thegavins! I would hate to have that thing strapped to my feet!! Probably has an icebreaker on the front of it!!

I used the density of wood by an estimated volume of the board and got 1.83. Not too far off with only a perspective photo to guess the dimensions of the board!

I'm an engineer too... Can you tell?

Its a curse sometimes...

Travesso, your assumptions were not too good there - you should have set a few boundaries there to compare your theoretical value to.

I know a few engineers and they sucked at learning to kiteboard because they were to busy telling me how the kite should be rigged for optimal performance and what not hahahaha.

Well I didnt have much to go on, I have never owned a kite board nor used one. I've only ever been riding strapless on a surfboard! :D

Rowdy, I've been too scared of serious injury to give a damn about how the kite optimally the kite is rigged! I do what the instructions say :D
