does anyone ride an 07 13m fuel.

i tried on the other day in quite low wind, however i reckon i wouldve been better to be on my 11m rev. this fuel was sooooooooo slow and dopey.

and how the F do you relaunch a c kite with 5th line.
glad i was just on the beach because it was soooooooo hard to get the thing back up.

what are your thoughts....

The 07 13m Fuel has about the same bottom end as the 11m REV. It's not made to be a light wind kite as such.

To launch a C kite with 5th line you need to pull in the 5th line so the kite is on its back then pull in one of your back lines so that the kite moves to the side of the window then it will stand up and re-launch. Before 5th lines we used to have to swim towards the kite to make it flip on its back.

You think it's hard with a 5th line should try it with out :-)
I love my fuel freestyle, wake style kites are suppose to grunt, and fly slow an dopey. thats why you can unhook hold on with one hand and grab your board while tweeking with out the kite budging from it's position in the sky..
ps slow dopey turning you should feel the rip from the baby when you loop it :-) then :-( then :-) then :-( then :-)
you get the picture

i have 13m fuel, and i somewhat agree. Whilst it flies great in 17 - 23 knots, anything below that is always a struggle. No matter what anyone sais, my experience after two seasons of kiting and trying as well as watching other kites of various types and sizes, is that fuels have narrower wind range than other kites. However when the wind is right, they fly great. Also, even my 17m fuel is not much different - 13 - 17 knots approx is what it's good for. As soon as it drops one knot, game over. So with fuels you need to own several size kites. The issue with that is when it's dodgy wind day with inconsistent and changing winds, you could end up having to pump up more than one kite, and change during your session - which i noticed some other guys with different type kites didn't have to do.

As for relaunching - you need a bit of wind. If you lack wind you won't be able to relaunch the soaked wet kite from the water even on 5th. However if it's decent wind (i.e. 18-19 knots and above) i've relaunched many times without having to either flip or use the 5th... simply i would just pull the bar to one side, and the kite would slowly go to one side with that end starting to lift off. The key is to have a good control with the bar so once it goes vertical you keep it directed to the edge of the window.
