I am considering a slingshot misfit 132 x 40 for powered up boosting sessions. I mostly ride a directional unless the wind is at the top end of the kite I am using so i am not really worried about the low end.
I would really just like to be able to hold down a lot of power, Is 132 too small for my weight of 100kg or should it be about right for a lot of power.
I currently have a naish motion 142 which I feel is a bit big for what i am trying to do.
If you want to be super powered and boost then get it. The smaller board you use the more power you can hold down.
Of course there are more factors that just width and length dimensions.
But little is good if boosting powered is your aim.
Much too small. Go for the misfit 136, it's what I went down to after a misfit 142. Great boards and a world different in each size.
yeh you could, but not ideal. im 75kg and ride 139, but i wish i had gone bigger! i wouldnt get a board that small at your size. another thing to consider, if you ride a surfboard alot , you probably have a wide stance. the stance on a 132 is really narrow so you will probably hate it. i think my stance on a 139 is too small after iv been on a surfboard.
l weigh 110kg and use a 134 x 42 Shinn Monk. I also demoed the 132 Monk was told to get the 134 big mistake the 132 was perfect. l have a Slingshot misfit 135 gathering dust the Monk is far better no spray in your face holds a much better edge.
I don't think the size of the board will be much of an issue if your using it for big wind, with enough wind you can kite using a mcdonalds tray. Only issue is if you are tall you prob won't get your stance wide enough. Always try before you buy if possible.
Thanks for the replies guys, the width of the stance is not something I had thought of, it's just a cheap second hand so I might just check it out do a bit of a comparison with my current board as far as the stance and maybe give it a crack and see if it's a keeper ![]()
