The opportunities come up for me to get a brandnew Revolver from a shop with waranty etc, I was orriginally looking at getting a Used REV 2. the used Rev2's are still more expensive then the brand new revolver.
I was just after some advice on which way to go as im on a tight buget. Im 95kg and very familier with the Rev 1 and 2's but ive never flowen and know nothing about any of the Cabrinha's. Im also after some info about how different in performance, wind range and quality they are?
any advice would be hugly apreciated

The only people I've seen using revolvers are beginners who've gotten them cheap because no-one else would buy them. I've heard that there are some who actually bought them and use them as wave kites, but I'm just reporting what I've seen.

From what I've seen, these kites don't have much grunt (is that pre-emptive de-power?) and turn pretty slowly. That could be good for park-and-ride down-the-line waves, but then why seven struts? Too much like the crossbows (which I've owned) for my liking.

I ride switchblades and love them, so nothing against cabrinha, it just seems these particular kites were a flop. I only here people praise the rev in terms of performance, although bar/chickenloop issues seem common. I'd go the rev2, but remember there are lots of good kites out there, and this is the season to get a bargain. Haggle, haggle, haggle.

Dude they are some pretty bold statements considering u have never even ridden one. In my experience the revolver is a very nice kite. It actually turns quicker than the sb3 in 1:1 mode because the rear lines conect directly to the rear wingtip. There are no pulleys on the front bridal. I also found the 11m has a larger wind range than the 12m sb3, although not as grunty in the bottom end. All the cabs have loads of depower. You have the option of riding this kite in 2:1 mode for extra depower, but you wont ever need it. In 1:1 mode this kite is nothing like the crossbow. I cant compare it to the rev 2 as I have never ridden one. you have a hard choice as u r comparing an 08 kite with an 09. If you care about resale the 09 might be the better choice, but its 2nd hand, what condition is it in?. I can tell u that the revolver is a very well constructed kite. You almost definatly will have less issues with the cab bar setup(do a search and you will find plenty of issues with the SS bar). The revolver was designed as awave Kite in 2:1(fast turning huge depower to let the wave do the work) but I think its a better freeride kite in 1:1 mode.

hey, ive ridden both kites several times, i own a cab revolver and the rev is a nicer kite to fly IMO.... better for unhooking, and i think it is just a nicer kite to fly.the rev doesnt have as much depower in the bar stroke as the revolver ( i ride with 1:1) and if i fully push out the bar the kite will fall out of the sky. both kites jump high and are both good in waves the only downfall with the rev is the bar but if you look after it i think you would get to like the rev alot more. i definatley wouldnt recommend looking at revolvers if you are going to be unhooking as they WONT SIT STILL. i would probably say go for the rev.

If you plan unhooking or riding in the surf - get the rev
the revlover is heavy on bar pressure

I have ridden both and found the REV 11 to have much better bottom end and feel. The Revolver felt very spongey in 1:1 mode.

I weigh 85kg and use a 136 twin tip. My useable wind range on the REV11 is 14knots bottom end (can go lighter but not really having fun) and fully powered at 25knots. Can go a bit higher but again not having fun. Ideally over 22knots a 9m would be better.
