2 of us kited with edge 17 and sector 60 and sector66.The 60 with 4 fins tracked well fast and slow . The 66 with 3 fins tracked well at slow speed, speed it up and it slides sideways and it goes off on a reach without much control.Have put new and extra tight rubber washer on fin bolts, thought air sucking past fin bolts maybe problem,a good seal now.2nd question ,has any one fitted weed fins to their v 3 boards. Thanks , cheers Rob

Hi Rob,

The sector 60 is always going to be the easier of the 2 boards to ride. The 66 is more "Race" and the 60 is more "Free ride/race"

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "slides sideways" but if you are trying to go faster and find that you end up on a reach and loosing control you might have too much weight on your heels and are edging the board too much instead of ridding it flat. Maybe try placing more weight on your toes and less on your heels as the 66 will be more sensitive to how flat/edged the board is. Also more weight on your back leg and less on your front can help you steer the board upwind as it is being ridden flat.

Another idea is to set your 66 up as a quad and give it a go like that.

I dont think air being sucked down through the fin box is going to be the issue.

I have not spoken to anyone that has fitted weed fins to thier Sectors but if you do give it a go please let me know how it works out as i have been thinking of trying the same thing on my Monaro.

Sounds like classic spinout or fins cavitating as on a sailboard.
Put simply, too much back foot pressure for the size sail/kite. A lack of balance of forces. On a sailboard, you bear off the wind slightly, or let the sail out a tad, or balance the equation by smaller sail or larger fin. YOU ARE TRYING TOO HARD, LOL. Back off a tad and voila, you will have no spinout.
