THE GAME CHANGER

The Velocity VMG race kite by Cabrinha can only be described as a complete game changer in the constantly evolving kite racing scene.

Initial thoughts-
Amazing smooth power, light and stable bar pressure that makes tacking incredibly easy.
Deals with dodgy winds a lot better than other kites I have used.
Super light weight
The kites come ready to race, huge 4-1 depower, thin racing lines, which are the perfect length for the 16m (27m lines with 3m super thin extensions) (other size kites are different.)

Upwind:

The upwind ability of the velocity kite is where Cabrinha have put there time and effort dramatically improving the grunty Crossbow LW, this kite flys remarkably smoothly making responding to gusts and tacking effortless.
I love using this kite in underpowered conditions, while everybody was struggling with their 17m's around 6 knots my and David's kites (16m) were still flying strong.

Downwind:

Smooth, very responsive and easy to loop and shoots back up really quickly! Compared to the other Melbourne guys i felt can go lower by a fair few degrees while doing very similar speeds

The BIG question:
Is it better than the edge?!!!!
I say, yes! I have never felt like this kite it going to fall out of the because i missed one tack like when i rode ozone, The kite gets to a certain point in the window and simply stays there. Another thing i love compared to the ozone 17m is the light bar pressure when tacking, I have found this to be a lot more forgiving and has enabled me to nail a lot more tacks. Lastly, I love the swivel system that Cabrinha has used to get rid of the annoying front line twists, so much easier than the ozone system.

Is it faster than the edge?
Heck Yes! I BEAT EJ IN MULTIPLE RACES!!!!!

GET READY FOR BRISBANE BOYS AND GIRLS!!

Rode the 18 mtr today in 9-15 knots. Shame the other lads on the ozone had a tangle and snapped lines otherwise I would have had something to compare to.
Hit 30.59 knots.. super light, smooth turns, really nice bars, light bridle but not too light. Went super upwind and wasn't bothered one bit by the wind when it hit over 15 knots... not used to how it turns so I stuffed most of my roll tacks, its much quicker than my 18m xbow, and smaller.

I think I'm in love!!!!! see you in Brisbane!!!!!

Okay. I rode the 18mtr in 10-20 knots today. It really held it's ground and I was never overpowered. Some of the other guys were on 17m ozone and mentioned they were overpowered at times. I was able to point higher upwind that the others today. They were riding the similar boards and ozone kites. The only main difference is obviously rider weight and fins. I'm 90kg so can handle a bit more wind.

Had a couple where I smoked upwind.... good practice.
