Robbie Douglas took out the 3day's heat on slalom race board (mike labs) using small fins with a speed of 41knots (in 25knots winds), only 7knots slower than the overall fasted result on a speed board.

The invitation is currently Euro vs America.

Perhaps there will be an Aus team competing one day

Wish we could get the specs on that board and fin setup. I am looking for a board like that. Just looking for all out speed and feel like my sector 52 isnt the fasest for slalom and reaching speed

Doesnt have to be the best up wind as I won't be in any course races soon.

Not a chance! They hard enough to ride on silky smooth flat water, there have been enough brave atrempts by many to ride them in ocean chop & swell to know they not designed for this.

But it awesome to see that the advances being made in the board/fin designs to achieve these speed in more generally acceptable conditions, not just in a few inch deep man made channels.

Alex Aguera is now producing a 60cm slalom board.
