anyone want to go for a raceboard session this arvo? Melvill or anywhere? I've just got back from Auckland and i'm already itching to do some more racing!
Rode melville til dark last night. last one in. Will be doing the same tonight. Lots of others will be coming down to melville to test and practice and maybe even some racing.
Come down MRT. the more the merrier. If you have a start watch bring it too as it makes for more competitive starts.![]()
Wind again... wohooooo....
Hey Dale. If we get a few numbers i might be able to organise a start boat and race course. no promises but it would be cool if it all came together. would be about 6pm start if it happens. so guys should be out on the water by 5:30.
cheers Torvar
Was fun - testing this arvo the new NJS race and its as sweet as a WA sea breeze - smashed a few runs to top mark after 1 hour on board with the crew and got the vibe- lots of potential to go very fast... ![]()
Yar ....many of us massing on the hills & now we have decent boards to ride and got the vibe we attack the tribes in the East at sail Brisbane. ![]()
After the last battle where we were smashed we come back to fight again.
Oh and it's not going to be pretty, we've sharpened our fins and won't hold back.. Brisbane is critical ground to make up. We're coming in numbers, this time it's war!!!! [}:)]
I don't want to know what pee web sites you like late at night - I just thought you asked if the WA crew were going to sail Brisbane
' looks like all 4 of us fighting for the 50 points on the kiting entry list...
Chopping Jelly fish - looks like the Swan River in Perth on any hot easterly summers day...
Lets race this arvo.. 2 laps of the usual course at Melville, the start line is downwind near the point. @ yellow markers.
Bring your stop watches
At least 2 races. Racing starts 5:30, 5 minute countdown.
MRT are you around?
The breeze a nice 20 knots.
Looking like some wind on the weekend, anyone keen on racing Sunday Arvo. Would be good to get a few of us out there.
Was thinking maybe 3:00 first race?
Yep I'm in!
BTW I just bought my flights for Sail Brisbane. Would be awesome to get a good WA crew over there
Hi everyone
I bought a couple of race kites of Damo recently, and i have been borrowing a sector 60 until my race board arrives in mid march (Monaro V5)...if it ever gets here.... I'm sticking the odd "duck tack" and calling laylines ok etc my gybing is atrocious but i think I'm just about ready to come racing on the sector 60 and not get in your way too much, keen for a bit of after work stuff if that's still happening, how do i know when ppl will be sailing? I here Melville on the posts a lot, where is that? pelican point?
Cheers
Si
Marksy I have only just got a race board, been riding a sector up till last week and although they might not be as quick, get you tacks right be on the line at the start and pick the right shifts and you will still be in it and if it's really windy you may be quicker as you will have some control.
Once you get your V5 gybing will be a lot easier, well that's what I found coming from the sector.
When sailing at Melville most people rig up next Melville beach road.
marksy we are normally at either the southern end or the northern end of the beach . basically look for ozone edge's , white airrush kite or dale on his cabrhina . Not hard to spot a gaggle of CF6's :)
I'll be there also.
I concur with SydPete on the Sector being quick, especially in windy conditions. Some guys are just as quick on a Sector as others on raceboards. Damo and Pete are two examples.
On the 25th I was out at Peli Point and had a blast met Johnnokeys on his new Italian Orange Lamborghini temaVento board me on my V3 with 4 finns I got caned big time!
Then when packing up Damo showed up on his V5 and cutting sick out on butter smooth waters!!
We all had 13M up!!!
