Hello,

we have a kiteschool in Cagliari, Sardinia (www.kitegeneration.it/) and our "hobby" is the Kite Race.
From this year it seems that for light wind Foil Kite are required because they have much more high performances than inflatable kites.
Now we are thinking to buy the new Ozone Chrono 12 and we are wondering which is the max wind intensity that gives better performances that inflatable kites. 18 knots? 20 knots?
Does anybody have some experience on that?

Chrono sure not for kite schools as a super tech kite and 12m very very powerful & unforgiving in winds above 15knots - a kite only for very experienced riders i can ride above 20 knots on race board but I am 95kg and kite is very scary to launch and land by yourself in those conditions - with a helper a piece of cake.

I am not a racer or into racing, but I have seen the Chrono 12m used in races and with racing boards in general. To say the Chrono 12m is powerful in light winds is an under-statement. It barely needs 12knots and woosh! She holds and pulls like a truck! 15knots and you'll be over powered, especially on a race board I think. But again, I am not a racer so I would not know first hand. Just sayin the kite *is* powerful.
