Hi all. Could not find much about Manta foils, specifically the 2015 model. Looks like a simple mid aspect shape with an old school V shaped rear wing. So wondering whether it is any good.

My level is low but I have been up and runnig and going toeside etc. Looking for something which will let me cruise mid speed, but also help me learning foil tacks.

My budget is very limited hence looking at the cheaper 2015 Manta.

Been riding a low aspect and a mid aspect foil so kind of familiar with the pros and cons. But wondering how
stable the old Manta is considering a less sophisticated looking rear wing.

Thanks for your help.

Mantas have a decent reputation, solid, good value, easy to ride, replacement or upgrade parts available. Iirc they are designed by renaud barbier who was the zeeko designer before he split off to start Manta.

Has anyone actually ridding one?

They have the Aluminium one for US$685 at the moment, which which makes it ~AUD$930 which is potentially handy for avoiding import tariffs (I haven't looked closely at it!) Not sure about postage thought.

Pretty tempting, but the wings look pretty flat too which is pretty atypical from what Ive seen (their higher end ones have a bit more curve by the looks of things). Google doesn't reveal too many reviews of the product.

Coops was yours with the v60? I found the wording a bit confusing whether you were including the board.. Just a tip if you're putting it back up. Price seemed reasonable with board, I wondered why it didn't sell faster?

Now this post smells a bit fishy..
Last time kiteboy was pimping a spotz foil on here, next thing you know.. hello he's selling it after talking it up so much I actually thought everyone on here was going to buy a spotz 2 too...
But for me it's actually quite entertaining to know when there's a jobber on the job!

Yeah ok fly whatever mate. You're onto a conspiracy theory worthy of heavy weather there mate.

Spotz was a good board, solid as, would recommend. I just don't have time for kiting right now & I suck at foiling.. So far. Hard to progress when you can only squeeze 6 short sessions in a season. I didn't want to see it gathering dust & depreciating as the 2nd hand market grows.

I'm in the biggest time crunch of my life, 2 small kids both with sports, full time job, renovating caravan & taking fam camping 1 weekend a month, learning 2 instruments, plus team sport one night a week & SUP when I can. Somethings gotta give.

For me I've stepped back to an alien twister which is heading my way. I'm gonna get good at strapless directional, in my own time, then add slots for foil. Pref zeeko green & white but whatever's solid & right price, manta would do. Then I can step back to carbon foil in my own time, if I want. It's a lower cost, lower commitment entry to foiling that suits my stage of life more.

Ps What's a "jobber on the job"? Must be a WA thing.

A mate of mine bought the Comet board, with the Carbon XR1 mast and race carbon foil ( I was riding the freeride foil, which looks like it's solid glass to me but I could be wrong. )

Board is nice freeride shape & ok to ride, I found with the freeride foil doing about 15-20kts, I still had my rear foot infront of the rear footstrap with the mast in the full rear position, so I wonder if either the freeride foil was too big, or I need to fiddle with the AoA a little.

Stable, easy to ride and control, board touches down nice.

I think it was around 1200 for the new board, and ex rider race mast/foils
