Confirmed on syckiteracing page
by Johnny Rodgers VIS head coach (sailing)

Criteria for VIS,AST,ASS will be announced in October
Not sure what ASS is
But AST, Australian sailing team, would be pretty nice

Looks from this that the powers to be in the sailing community are doubting that kiting would be kicked out of the games in Rio if they are making criteria for us to be in the Australian Sailing Team.

A new era for the sport

Yep def a lot of planning going on by the powers that be, so it would be reasonable to assume they know what to expect from ISAF come November.

Don't get too cocky. The word from around the world is that the vote will be re-opened.

Not cocky at all, just telling it how we see it, YA and ISAF are doing some work to get it all happening, you can put you head in the sand and pretend it isnt happening and hope that all the effort the windsurfers are now putting in after the horse has bolt will do some good.

But the fact is for all the guys that are here on this forum now have all been racing before the May decision, so the Olympics is just another thing to talk about, so whether it gets the nod or not in November we dont care, it's a great part of the sport we all enjoy and we will keep doing it, it's fast and personally challenging to get better with every session, and did I say it was fast
You gota admit that for a bit of sail cloth on the end of fours bits of string it is amazing what can be done, freestyle, speed, course race, wave, skim board, snow board, land board and its still a new sport!

Most of us are not interested in a them and us battle or debate.
Most of us also think it is a shame the windsurfers got kicked out in favour of kites, but sh!t happens, I am sure something was kicked out when windsurfers got in some 20 odd years ago.
Hell I am even disapointed that Australia a sailing nation didnt send a man in the RSX class
Most of us have nothing against windsurfers and would luv to have a beer with you guys after a race and talk sh!t about why we won or lost, but most likely why we won

Let's not get into this debate kiters. Awesome news and as it stands now there will be alot of developments in the kiting for ast and ass selection criteria and camps etc. I believe Brendan Todd and mark Robinson are looking after us? I hope so because they both have a huge amount of knowledge of olympic sailing and training/management. It's a long road and Rick is right we are going to keep racing either way Olympics or not.

Speaking of Olympics we are killing it In the sailing. Bloody ripper

Yep
Are you one of them windsurfers?

Unfortunately by the time we packed up at our launch (after our slow exit from the water) and got around there on Saturday most had gone, spoke to Tom, Geoff and John though.
