Hey guys,
I am really keen on get into kite racing this season! I am having alot of trouble deciding on what board to get and how to get into it.
Would love some advice on the best way to get started (who to talk to) and what gear to go for.
I know that my first board is going to get a work out due to the countless crushes during the learing stage but i am trying to find the most cost effective way to get through this period.
Any advice on what to get or who to talk to around sydney would be great.
Thanks
Great. Best to come and try some boards and look at what everyone is using. I will PM you with my mobile. Will be out a lot over next few weeks, with a few other regulars. Going down about 3.30pm today. Kites - more coming on the market, but hard to go past the Ozone Edge. New one just released and it looks even better again (unfortuantely for my wallet!).
Anyone reading this interested in racing in Sydney, drop me a PM and will be happy to let you try some gear and get racing.
Thanks for all the advice guys. . . very helpful.
I have been kiting for a few years and sailing competitively for many years.
I currently have a 11.5 & 9 griffin argo. I am thinking i will just try and get my hands on a second hand board and learn the basics. Maybe just change my de-power set up and uses these kites for the first few months or as long as it takes to get the basics down, then update kites when possible.
Thanks again look forward to see you guys around the traps.
