Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone in perth was aware of any kind of junior development

or what the plan is for the 2012/2013 kite racing season (dates etc).

It would be great to hear what other people know. cheers

Hi Chipy,

We are planning on holding another Kite Course Racing series again this year with the assistance of Airush.

We have not set any dates or anything in stone yet (we will do this in the coming weeks)

We are toying with a few ideas at the moment. One idea that we are looking at is teaming up with a local sailing club on Saturdays or Sundays and running races with them. But also holding more "social" type races maybe every second Wednesday. This way we get proper course racing with good starts for the people that want to progress their racing skills and the 1st time races or just general cruisers can come down mid week and have a race too.

As far as junior development goes with course racing being such a new thing we have not had a huge amount of interest from the younger crew YET but if there are any juniors out there that are even remotely interested in racing then i would strongly urge them to come down to the mid week racing and have a go! or better still step up to the plate and come down to the weekend racing. Airush are going to be providing Sectors again this year so they don't even need to own their own race board.

If there are any juniors or absolutely anyone for that matter that is interested or wants more info on kite racing then feel free to get in touch or pop into the shop for a chat.

with your idea of teaming up with a yacht club and holding races on the weekend don't suppose you would be thinking of having it at Safety bay yacht club in Rockingham?

I'd be interested between Mackay and Townsville, have a junior 13 y/o adv' learner to mix it up a bit, peer group pressure...[}:)]

What does between Mackay & Townsville mean? Where are you and what would you like to help to enter racing?
