Have been thinking about getting a formula board for a while, however while thinking about it foils have really taken off
any advice on which way to go would be appreciated.
ps been kiting for around four years and windsurfing before that I'm 86 kg
Thanks
IMO - foil is easier in every way - apart from the first 2 months getting set - once you get the skills foil riding is a perfect session very time and is on a different level to formula - some say chugg it out and learn first on a formula to learn tacks and gybes as easier and I agree - BUT I reckon just go foil and dig deep dude
Foil just s gets better and better with every session
PS you will take a lot of big crashes but within time you move through the progression of skills necessary to ride a foil with ease and comfort
Go an easy free ride foil first & hook up with the local foil riding crew and bug them for every tip and you will improve way faster -
When I was learning I tried sword, liquid force and KFA. Found KFA to be easiest and bought one. Liquid force good going slow, but level control difficult at speed. Sword too loose downwind. KFA pretty good all round.
Thanks for your reply, appreciate it
Any suggestions on equipment You would suggest to start on
