Currently being discussed on kiteform:

kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2381526

Leading on from this, some questions for those who might know or have an opinion:

If you put a foil type rear fin which is less than 50 cm long onto a IKA 70 cm race board;
(1) Would that give you adequate lift to get the stern of the board out of the water i.e. foil off the front fins cant & the rear foil type fin (increase speed and stability)?
(2) Could you use a foil type fin for the front and rear at different depths to foil efficiently? i.e. replace all 3 fins to foils
(3) Reduce the amount the board slaps (reduce drag)?
(4) Decrease the turning forces through your front ankle in the strap by changing the force dynamics against the fins and allowing a narrower stance as effort would be through the front fins and allow for ability to hike more efficiently?

A thought was something like the the old 80's Shane Horan / Ben Lexan type star fin sort of shape to start with (if you could get one out of glass or carbon and to fit a tuttle box)

yes M., i beleive the san fransisco podium could get a spot at the L2L, as the sword foilboards did really well in that event it would be good for foilboards in australia, i suppose remi, the designer, would be keen to join them on that journey as everyone is goinn overseas this winter...rv
