Thumbs Up

Just bought a foil mount and tossing up which board to put it on.
Was hoping to put it on an old surfboard but there may be too much rocker and concaves in it.
(Airush Converse)
Has anyone had experience with the foil mount on surface boards?

Thumbs Up

I have done one and surface needs to be dead flat for the standard plate. The plate has no flex.
My board has a slight double concave so bought the plate with the groove which has slight flex so all ok.
However even plate with the groove the board needs to be reasonably flat.
Board also needs to be a heavily glassed board with strong glass bonding to foam. A solid stringer is a bonus for longer life.
As a precaution I have strong cord leash attached to my board and foil.
My board has rocker however is flat enough for the plate. I have put a wedge under the mast plate to ensure wings are level to the planing area of my board.
Good luck.
