Hi guys

I am in the process of building a board.

What do you think would be the result of putting a tri fin setup (2x 35cm + 32cm rear) on a board that is 53cm wide x 180cm long? I know that boards are constantly getting wider with bigger fins but do you think that setup could be difficult to ride or is it not a problem?

I am mainly looking to use the board for lightwind cruising and hopefully a bit of racing, also easy to ride is important.

I am just not sure what the result of putting longer fins on a skinny board would be.
any info on recommended setups is appreciated.

Cheers brezzo

hey mate,

the new race boards are predominately 3 fin.

easier to ride downhill.

a twin might be an easy option for a starter.

If you want a light wind cruiser /racer put bigger fins on it , a least 38 cm for a tri fin , you need at least this size fin to get drive upwind in light conditions , and if you want to start racing bigger fins are a must. The big fin boards are supprisingly easy to ride ( until you want to tack or gybe) .
