In the market for a foil kite. Been on single strut kites for years. Only problem is in very low wind, they will fall out of the sky easily. I am only 65Kg so wanted a single skin I could use in 8 knots for cruising a large foil/pocket board. Any recommendation for size and type of foil kite?

I like my Peak's, they're great but if you drop them it's over. I mean... if you drop an LEI in that sort of wind you're kinda screwed too - so I guess it doesn't matter

Either great timing or building hype depending on your cynicism level..

flysurfer.com/project/hybrid2/

The original hybrid got mixed reviews from Peak flyers. Twice the cost and less performance, but more/some relaunch. Probably better at drifting too - Peaks drift like a hanky in the wind when you slack the lines too much, some structure to hold the kite in shape would be nice in some situations. A lot a Peak flyers would stick to the Peak and just not crash.

I literally never crashed my peaks when I was flying them - consequence gives you wings not red bull. OK maybe once or twice but relatively never. But I did snap a line, and also snap my rope spreader, both resulting in nasty long swims and bad situations. The Hybrid would have been no better in those situations.

Having said all that some do love the Hybrid. I think it depends on how much surf you're in, how good you are at kite control, and how much performance you want out of the kite - eg upwind ability etc. The Hybrid is pretty fat, sits in the middle of the window.
