I might be wrong but i don't think the bridles on the Ozone Edge are made of Aramid. From memory they looked more like dyneema (no idea on spelling)

Aramid is just like Kevlar and is very unlikely to stretch. Aramid would make a great bridle material but as it is so close to Kevlar i would guess that under the current kite class rules it would be deemed to be "illegal" like Kevlar. (Kevlar is very very hard to cut and therefore has been ruled out for safety reasons) As the Edge is a race kite i doubt that Ozone would be using materials that would bring the racing legality of their products into question. But like i said i could be wrong.....It wouldn't be the first time.

Just measure the bridle lines and see if they are the same on one side as they are on the other. If your bridle has stretched then it is very unlikely to have stretched evenly on both sides.

I think it is more likely to have an issue with the canopy, LE bladder or bar and lines.

How old is it?

Well there you go i guess that is where the saying "everyday is a school day" comes from.

I just found this on their web site:

EDGE DESIGN

Insane upwind and downwind capabilities
Extreme hang-time and lift
Huge de-power range

Low Drag Aramid Bridles

4-line pulley-less system (no pulleys, no problems)
Comparable feeling throughout the size range
One-Pump system for quick and easy setup
High volume inflate/deflate valve
Multiple trimming options for customized handling and bar pressure
Color coded and numbered fool proof line connectors

But i swear the bridles that i have seen on Ozone kites was dyneema and not Aramid.....I will have to go and have another look now.
I still doubt that your bridle has stretched tho. I would still suggest pumping the kite up preferably indoors out of the wind and checking the canopy,LE and bar and lines as well as measuring both sides of your bridle.

And here is lesson # 2 for today.

I just found this in the IKA class rules.

MATERIALS
(a) Flying lines shall be made of Dyneema, Spectra or generic brands.
(b) Bridles if used shall be made of Carbon, Kevlar, Poly-aramid,
Dyneema, Spectra or generic brands.

So it looks like it is just the lines that cant be made of Kevlar. Which does make sense because if you are close enough to cut a bridle line then you should be able to reach the kite and therefore not need to cut a line.

So i'll just STFU and stop having a convo with myself

But i'll still stand by my statement that i doubt it is your bridle stretching that has caused the problem.

thanks damo, its a 2013 always pumped up hard , the aramid bridles are much thinner than the standard, ive checked my lines and all good, ive had all edge models since release so im very familiar how they fly, i ride very agressivly with the kite , its just feeling a touch twitchy on my last few outings which it hasnt done before, maybe it was the wind conditions, i might order a new set and see how that goes, thanks again

bridals wear and stretch after heavy use with any kite.

replace them and your kite will feel nicer after ;)

are the 2013 available with the standard bridles marv, not so important to me having zero drag, pretty amazing stuff having dental floss with a 300kg breaking strain though, also if not whats the cost on a new set for a 10mtr 2013
