I have not watched this show for a long time. However should it not end with them being baptised and then going to church? Or did this already happen?

Apperntly that's it, thought it was such a good series but the final ending really let it down.

Another TV series on Vikings, Saxons and associated peoples of this time is The Last Kingdom on Netflix.

I think the final series was cut into two parts, so later on in the year we'll see part B. Go figger?

There's a lot of loose ends to tidy up. Of course they could just be an artifact of ad hoc writing - just starting up threads so they have something to do next week, then uh oh, the essential protagonist is killed for some unrelated reason. It's not a good way to tell a story.

In any case the Rus never invaded Norway so they're not even making historical fiction anymore. It's just a sword and sorcery soap opera.

The Rus were Swedish Vikings who travelled down the rivers of eastern Europe and built up a settlement at what became Kiev. I don't know why they have to make up fictional stories of these times as the historical events are quite entertaining.
