so probably some silly questions may come from this

his launch was unassisted. the wind was very light (no speed bar connected) and the thermals were very very weak so no collapses etc butter smooth glide. he is conrolling the wing by weight shifting (it is what it sounds just leaning on one side or the other) the green line is not active its just simply to tether the guitar to harness incase he were to drop it. the guitars held infront of chest straps that keep him in the harness.

on modern gliders most of the incidents are due to pilot error. so not touching the controls is relatively safe a bag of potatoes is actually a pretty good pilot and should just glide out to its 10-1 ratio or whatever the glider has. they fly quite well by themselves as seen in this video damn cant find the video
