This is amazing.

That is bold claim and could be a bit misleading same time.
Doesn't clarify the material is actually:
-the strongest spider web ( that could be true)
or
-strongest ever material ( which is very doubtful)

Anyway our technology for producing could be only artificial , but findings could be useful in discovery better then resin bonding agents for carbon fiber ropes and sheets.

aren't they saying they sprayed the spider and the spider started engineering nanotubes.

you see , even you get caught into this trap.
Spider is sprayed with nanotubes already and incorporate that into silk,
His own silk used as a glue to bond our carbon nanotubes ,
instead of resin.
Spider silk could be stronger then resin used in our laminates, who knows ?

That is like our carbon fibre material. We provide that fiber glass and spider provide resin.

BTW we do produce perfect carbon structures in the form of:
-crystals - diamonds
- sheets
-balls
-nano tubes

and no spider could invent anything stronger or better. Even whole physics cant's see better material then that to be feasible in nearest future I am afraid.

They claim strongest material ever measured

Nothing new anyway, I see spiderfibre is in Mr Severne's new sails

Just remember that many natural , organic products are biodegradable.
So don't expose your sails to contact with water, that could speed up the process.
Keep your sail always in upright position away from water.
