Probably been discussed before but
Wondering about peoples views and experiences on the Mercedes Vito, Hyundai I-load , and Renault traffic.
To buy 2nd hand about 5yo.

Looking at something that drives nice, minimal road noise.
can tow a 950kg caravan.
preferable 5 seats options maybe removable or fold down. option on family? and fit
a couple of sups or windsurf boards and sails etc.
or kiting gear.

Prefer Auto but herd some expensive stories on Auto gear boxes.

experiences good and bad.
Thanks in advance

Owned a few vans in my time in Europe, transporter and vito were a step up in quality, but exspensive if anything major went wrong, but for me this never arose, the traffics were a popular van, the transits were the most popular tbh, a bloody good solid reliable workhorse, and cheap as for maintenance and parts, the aa sell off some Vito's so you'd expect a good service record which is IMO important on the transporter and Vito's,

I have had my diesel manual Iload for 5 years now 110,000 on the clock no problems yet and tows our Jayco better than my old VT wagon. Make sure whatever you buy it comes with full service history. You can get extra seats added but it not cheap for good ones and they need to be ticked off by an engineer.

I've had an iLoad for about 4 years now - love it. The only thing I'd say is go for the diesel - I have petrol and it seriously lacks torque, I wouldn't want to tow with it (although I'm sure people do).

+1 on diesel

for some reason Hyundai and Kia make better diesel than petrol engines

I've got a '89 GMC Vandura. it's got everything you need - 8 cup holders, 5 ashtrays a poker table, 4 captains chairs, a king sized bed, walk on decking on roof, power steering, front and rear air, electric seats, windows, central locking.

Only one problem. It drinks about 30L per 100km.

bought a new fiat scudo almost a year ago. 2l turbo diesel. brilliant little beast. fits a 2.5m long landyacht under the bed. also fitted a full length roof rack tows really nice. amazing fuel economy. on one occassion , draughting a low loader I managed 8l for 235kms. . the best ive had was 1185kms from a 80l fuel up
