This is weird, when I started reading the write up in the local rag, I thought the guy had made a mistake, electric cars don't have turbos. He's also talking about "over boost" making it sound like an internal combustion engine.
Germans have a reputation for being "precise" but this is really mangling the language.
Is another case of marketing gone made?
Golfs already have that feature where the audio system makes it sound like different types of cars. It makes sense in a way. Why have a noisy car all the time when you can have one only when you feel like it.
No doubt the use of Turbo and Over Boost is needed to differentiate cars. If everyone was the same, who would buy the expensive ones versus the pedestrian models?
Marketing does make a difference. A lot of people think that 'twin cam' is better. They don't know what a cam is though, or why it might be better to have two.
Doesn't the power station use a turbine to make electricity? ......................... What a silly question Decrepit ![]()
Yet my Vacuum Cleaner, hair dryer, Turbo Diesel Kite, shaver, Nutribullet and so on have Turbo references or modes.
Are you telling me they don't have Turbo tech????
I picked up on this when I saw the article a few months ago. It seems turbo is no longer a mechanical component but a marketing term. applied to shavers and all manner of other things that have nothing to do with a turbo. Surely using a turbo name on a car without a turbo is misleading enough to be an issue though.... and from Porsche who make a great turbo engine. I might have expected it from a lesser brand trying to bling things up.
The real point is do you know how many toys you can buy for the price of a porsche
and still buy a vehicle
Just buy a V12 Ferrari they don't have turbos eh bro hehe
What's that bonobo
