Have seen multiple questions and reviews in this forum in regards to recommended couriers, so just adding my experience of a courier which i strongly DONT recommend, e-go.
Not only that they didn't meet the timelines, or that they broke a board, but even to make them pay the insured amount, was a painful waste of time, with no customer service or willing from their side to deal with a creature called customer..... Easier solution after months was to revert their payment via Paypal.....

Interesting- I did notice also that whilst the carriers were good, the actual e-go company has no interest in a problem (in my case just a simple query ) so yeah, I'd guess they are obstructive with claims.
I figure the carrier is responsible but they'd claim to just be subbies and go see e-go about it?
Who tried to get out of it and how? Just curious.
Anyway I've recently found smartsend to be cheaper, their door to door is same or cheaper than e-go depot to depot that is supposedly cheap.
While we're on the subject, DO NOT EVER use Couriers Please. They are total rubbish.
I've had a parcel in transit from NSW to WA, for a month and a half. Australia post normally takes around 10 days. I've rung them up many times, they say they'll investigate but never do. They don't seem to care at all that my parcel is now MIA.

I'm waiting on a package they've had for 3 weeks and i live 10 mins from their Welshpool depot.
After multiple requests to leave it at the front door, i finally got notified i have to travel further away to get it from a newsagency.
Their delivery card does not tell you where to collect it from.
Biggest joke of a courier company since Swift & Shift Couriers.
I've had multiple items go missing from tnt. One took a month before they resolved, had to reorder a whole pallet load of goods and pay for it before they paidout. Another guy left a calling card, when I rang up and asked why he didn't knock he said he didn't think anyone was home, despite ute in driveway. I'm guessing they are all bad.
bigger courier companies are no better . we use all the major couriers for work and they still manage to loose ****
Used e-Go a couple of times, no real issues, but for the money, I didn't have any expectation about time / tracking
Also used ego a few times , perfect on time. I do however have a big problem with Hunter express. They lost a $600 board. Investigating for months to no good. They did however refund the transport cost , dickheads !
Now I know Hunter own ego.
There must be an acceptable fail rate .
I've had both commercial and as well as recreational experience with couriers. In SA, all shop purchased gear is couriered now - no shops locally. Most of the major carriers are good. The issues are caused by the subcontractors receiving/delivering door to door. My recommendation: Depot collect. ie: You collect it at the courier's depot (if you can get the windsurfing shop to drop it off at the depot, even better). All carriers have this service. Some windsurfing shops will claim this no true, but they probably saying this because (understandably) they are on the phone a long time facilitating this. If you get resistance from a shop, google the depot address and supply the shop depot's address as the delivery address.
I had a mate who lived close to me when I used to live in the Elizabeth SA. He had to get his stuff dropped off at his work, as he had no time to drive into town. I always got mine depot collected. His equipment had a 80% damage rate. Mine had a 0% damage rate. The results speak.
