Missing Persons detectives are still looking for Ms Zhang, who is believed to have been wearing a pink nightgown and slippers when she went missing.Police said a person called Crime Stoppers anonymously on Thursday morning and provided details of Ms Zhang's location. They are now urging that person to make contact with detectives again and provide more information.

Now I find this strange, in todays technology how can I phone the local police on mobile and they know my name, address, drivers licence and I haver never been in trouble with them. Yet this person can call and they dont know who it is? bollocks, I say.
Even if you found a public phone box working the number of CCTV around they would get a gander at your face.

I suspect that they do this so that people are not scared to phone them and report things.

It makes sense as if everyone thought that they could track them, no one would call. Even then I wouldn't be surprised if people track down the last known phone box in suburbia to make these calls... but they don't need to. Even if it creates a problem for the police, without this policy they would probably hear nothing.

Being able to remain anonymous is the whole point of phone calls to Crimestoppers.
