Bookface and instagram are the ultimate band wagon vehicles for people to demonstrate their supposed knowledge, outrage , sadness etc... just to try to somehow feel more superior than their peers.
When David Bowie passed so many people where suddenly in mourning... people that really didn't even know more than one or two of his songs but it became almost trendy to post how saddened you where and how the world had lost a genius ( which he was by the way )
a similar outpouring for Prince ( who was also a genius ) but again twats who didn't even know his music or writing were similarly distraught at the worlds loss.
so will they be missed as much probably should be but the current generation will have moved on to the next celebrity passing and will be too busy mourning them to remember.

The nevermind album had a real powerful effect on many. I was 19 at the time and i knew people in their 40s at the time (93) that were gobsmacked by that album.
It was pure genius. Everything. The riffs. The lyrics (even though they made no sense) every instrument and every part played was good.
Lyrics didnt need to make sense because the songs made you feel something.
As far as the posters question goes i think its ridiculous.
Personally i respect David. Prince and GM. But they all kinda matured, made alot of albums and passed. Kurt didnt change mentally from being a broke musician once they became popular. He just got more wasted and self-destructive but still loved to play and create music with Krist and Dave .They hated the industry, werent ready for it and despised the likes of GNR.
it's a totally different scenario.
Kurt is really in the realm of hendrix i feel. A bright creative light that burned out. DAVID B. GEORGE M AND PRINCE SWITCHED TO LEDS AGES AGO.

Nirvana were good....but not much range....once the shock value of thier riffs wears off, then theres not much there.......just like gunners.......you can listen to half there songs for 20sec then its over. .....
The journey pearl jam has taken its fans on has been interesting as they have aged.....eddie with age has changed from a destructive message to a more matured search for peace....who knows what kurt would have done, but Nirvana was around a while and really just followed the same formula on all thier albums....
Dying young and around the peak of your popularity is what creates notoriety. ....

I have no doubt that all those people are fondly remembered by many people and that their music was great.
But Hendrix changed the way the electric guitar was played and that impact is still felt today. Every person playing a modern electric guitar is using equipment and techniques that Hendrix pioneered.

Yeah i liked in utero too.
The "Ten" by Pearl Jam changed the music back then. It came out just before the "Nevermind" ...
"Nirvana" was unbearable to listen to..overrated crap..IMO
BTW this band Kurt Cobain called "the best band in the world"...Their frontman looks like...hmmm...

Not doubting the impact Hendrix had on axe slingers across time but "the only rock person who died young and made a lasting impression on the world" Embellishing just a tad IMO.
One of the shames in JH cashing in early was not getting to see the potential of the non guitar music he had in him and potential role as producer of other's greatness.
Guess we will never know.. or is it never mind?

Sorry but that's wrong, David Bowie had such a broad appeal that because of his talent that people mourned his loss.
