I've often thought about kiting, sailing to Indo. When I lived in Darwin there used to be a sailing event that went there, stopped at the many islands between.
So the the daunting future with limited chance of getting os in the next few years, coupled with upcoming trade winds,... Who's up for doing a 60s style mission to Indo?

Yeah , the Darwin to Ambon still runs Gazza. Not this last 12 months mind you. Definitely crossed my mind once or twice lately - I'm in. I've started running my boards as 70s style single fins just to try to replicate the vibe. Even thought about paddling the 666 across - desperate times call for desperate measures eh.

It's definitely a good time to buy a yacht, free to roam again. Surely the price of yachts must have skyrocketed as they will soon be the only way you can get off the mainland. Back to our old ways.

I used to love maritime history, especially dutch,,... anyways back in the 1700s a Dutch ship went down, survivors made a makeshift 20ft yacht and sailed from Geraldton to Indo. Now, this is 300 years ago, no sat nav or GPS. If a bunch of uneducated sailors from back the with no electronics, surely us modern-day folk can manage. Lil sloope!

This could be the new sales pitch for LT's,
Buy an LT and sail your whole family to Bali.

Not sure if the price of yachts has gone up or down but they're currently cheaper than a week on Rotto
