Was a cigarette smoker for many years - not a particularly heavy smoker, unless out fishing... or out drinking. Quit a couple of years ago.
Always had a fascination with pipes. Had a camping trip to Morton Island a few months ago, and knowing the situation ahead of me - myself and two other dads (that could be challenging for long periods of time) and 7 teenage girls - I knew I'd be fanging for a smoke. So somewhat randomly, somewhat on purpose, I went and bought a pipe and some pipe tobacco.
I now love looking forward to an 'end of the week' Friday smoke and 'end of the weekend' Sunday smoke.
Anyone else like to relax with a puff on a (tobacco) pipe?
if so, what's your go-to pipe and go-to tobacco?

As an 8 year old, me and a mate were busted smoking ciggies by his dad. He made us smoke his pipe as a punishment/deterrent. Meh, I finally gave up the death weeds at 13.

But did you make the teenagers bring you your smoking jacket and slippers? And then following that did they sit around and listen to your stories of the old timey days?

Nah, they would be too busy getting Instagram photos.

No, but one did ask if I was a 'salty old sea dog?". Happiest day this year!

Was there more pointing & gestures & the pipe used as an acting prop than smoking?
Its always seemed the point .
Absolutely the best thing for giving directions.

Used to when I thought I was cool a long time ago. Still have it for when I get really old. The family hated it.

The pipe has lots of advantages over dirty ciggies
Can smoke while doing two handed tasks like sitting on loo reading paper, driving car with one hand and playing with .......
There is no dropping of ash on the carpet
Whilst watching TV can clear the room by tapping hot embers into large ash tray and using pipe cleaner to clean out spittle and any other nasties then scrape bowl with pen knife . Smells great especially if left overnight.
Can scratch Itch on chin ,cheek ,ear ,nose etc. with mouthpiece and look as if pondering the theory of...
End up with smelling fingers filling pipe .
However all being said to sit back with your pipe filled with your favourite aromatic tobacco is bliss.
Ha I had to edit as I used the word 'f.gs' instead of ciggies. Bring back the old days of free speech and pipes

Haha.. I used smoke a pipe - a proper pipe that is. Hand crafted by a sea dog in Anglesea Vic.
What tobaccos did/do you use?
My favourite was Borkum Riff (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borkum_Riff).
The girls loved the aroma. LOL
