You hear the phrase 'crumple zone' all the time with reference to modern car safety. This is an eye-opener, watch to the end for the internal view in both vehicles. Gives new meaning to the phrase 'old death trap'!

Of course those cars were going to crash into each other
They were driven by dummies

They're merriccans... Jesus is their airbag.

Imagine how a real car would perform in that crash... not a Chevrolet Malibu (Aka Holden Cruze)

I remember seeing two cars, maybe a Ford Laser and a Mazda, hit head on as one turned right in front of the other one. It was interesting to see the crunch, but all occupants got out and were fine. That made me appreciate modern cars are much safer, and this was 20 years ago.

When I was looking at the Nissan Elgrand test crash data, I came across a video that showed some other van or SUV where it was a real death trap. The front took a huge impact, but then the rear of the vehicle kept going into where the occupant was supposed to be. Crazy!

Maybe this is the reason we are all getting taller - less squishing in car crashes ?

Are you suggesting that the taller people are crazier behind the wheel and that their increased survival means that the population as a whole gets taller?

Makes sense.
