Today I got a SMS with regards to the same sex marriage poll, where did they get my number? I had already sent my reply back but would have voted the opposite of the SMS just because I so much hate getting random texts that I didn't ask for.
The same with shops that send you texts, is it just me?

I got one today also. Makes you wonder. Fortunately I'd already voted in the opposite direction to that suggested in the text.

SMS from the Gov' should only be used for communicating pending serious natural disasters bushfires, floods etc, to defined regions that have the potential to kill no matter which way you choose to swing, Ramming politicized Short Sausage Messages down our throats won't win those over wanting to make an informed decision on the matter.

Wonder if there was an increase in near misses etc on our roads as people fumbled to read the msg whilst driving. or how many debates arguments were created, hmmmmm....

THEY are just ramping things up,... before you know it everyone will fly into a raging fit over a message/signal delivered to your mobile like in the Kingsman ......

Also received that "vote Yes" txt message. I wonder if it wasn't sent by someone on the "No" side ' cos it's so obvious it'd generate a backlash.

I agree. From the 'no' camp or just a really dumb marketting idiot. Like that guy that headbutted TA, it ruins their cause.

That would work on chimps who only do level 2 deception. But humans are not averse to level 3 deception techniques. And then same sex preferenced persons are rumoured to be capable of operating at the giddy level 4 of deception! Who knows who sent it?

If my wives and GF all found out then watching "gay" porn might become my only remaining option!

They were numbers supplied by a computer number generation program..

Honestly what a first world problem, how dare anyone send a unsolicited text..I pray everyone makes a full recovery..

There's something more personal about txt that makes it feel more intrusive. I've voted yes and still don't like the method or ham-fistedness of it.

And who the hell votes (on anything!) on the basis of an uninvited txt??!!

You'd think that Labor would remember the last time they pulled a stunt like that, that it didn't work out so well for them.

Imagine the outrage that would happen if I sent a 'vote no' text message to every phone in Australia

Imagine how many headbutts from rainbow fascists I would need to dodge then

Ok update on the spam 'Yes' message.

You can lodge a complaint with the ACMA via text message on 0429999888.
The message may be illegal under Australian law on several counts: it is unsolicited, you have never had dealings with them and given them permission to text you and it contains no unsubscribe or opt out link.

We dont know how they got the list of numbers but it looks like Its been sent out to virtually all numbers in Australia by an automated system and looks to have been organised as part of the GetUp YES campaign.

^^ Two phones in this household didn't get a text.

Good point Spotty made about the potential driver distraction. Just another text the can't-ignore-my-phone brigade would have glanced at while your kids/mum/dad/wife/sister/granny/pop/mates were going about their day on the roads.

There is an exemption for political messages on the do not call register. So they have an out.
There is a voting option for anybody who wants to hide their dislike of the gays, even if you do think that they get the rough end of the stick when it comes to end of life and major medical decisions. Just vote "Si". See?

We had similar issues here on Central Coast with ex Mayor sending out txt to local residents for the recent council election.
So must be easy enough for anyone to get national or state or even regional(local) numbers.

Dude, I only watch futanari porn because it's 50% female + 50/50 male/female = 75% female/25% male.
That's the best ratio you are going to get.

Hetero is 50%. Bi.
Lesbian is gay.
Group is at best two at a time = 66%.
Solo = girl on girl. Gay again.

Futanari people. Futanari.

...by the way this whole opinion poll is a right mess. Libs say the result doesn't matter. Lab says the result doesn't matter.

All it's done is divide the community.

I'm almost sure it's a Russian infiltration divide-and-conquer plan.

That is what happened when someone was very keen to be elected so that he is the head honcho of a nation, and to be remembered accordingly. Now he got the first bit, ie. elected, he can't , refused, or too scare to make hard decisions. So he is only 50% or less legit, innit ?
