You cant buy a 3.2ltr Triton, that engine is in the Pajero only.
2.5ltr tritons are as good as any of the other dual cabs out there, just depends how much you are willing to pay.
3.2 motor was available until about 2008 from memory. I think it changed when they went from ML to MN model.
At the same time they extended the tray, so ML has a bigger tray, but also a much longer overhang (poorer departure angle).
The combination of the 3.2 motor and auto gearbox had a great reputation for being a competent all-rounder.
Just make sure you look for the last year or so of the MN up-spec models (GLS or GLX-R) so you get the SuperSelect transfer case with the full-time 4wd option from the Pajero. There was only about a 12 month window where the ML got upgraded to the SuperSelect transfer case before the MN was released.
Personally if I was looking for a secondhand Triton, I'd go for an ML 3.2 Auto with the full time 4wd option.
Stay well clear of the Bitsamissin , spend your coin on a Hilux 02-05 and you won`t be troubled for years.

Apart from injectors, I've owned 2 Hilux and on my 2 nd new model triton, neither triton has or has given me an ounce of trouble where my Hilux did, my new triton has more pwr and nm torque than the Hilux, hugely more fuel efficient and was $10,000 less, I've also owned Nissan
