Just checked out a pack of SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test , hadn't given them too much thought but interesting to see for one the name SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test ( ART ) not RAT not a big deal in itself but curious why someone changed it to RAT. It then got me thinking how we've been educated over the years to reduce plastic waste and in particular one off plastic, well we ain't, there's going to be millions of these little biohazards bastards filling Australia let alone the world, and yes you read right BIOHAZARDOUS. I only know that because they supply a cute little biohazard bag for each test. They being the Chinese whom we have purchased the majority of test kits from. Great so we buy from the country that started this whole show a product that may or may not give us a reliable reading, it's made of plastic, it's a biohazard and our government it appears is happy with this as my local council hadn't even considered waste management when I asked if there was a collection point.
rant over.

I would have thought the biohazard isn't the RAT, it's the saliva or mucus sample from the human that is contaminating the RAT.

It all becomes the contaminant right? As your mucus is on the ART as that's why they supply the bag and not just tell you to wash the plastic off and then discard.

On the subject of RAT's. My son was issued RAT's from the School, Vic Govt supplied, they want each Kid to do two tests a week.
No symptoms what so ever, so first school issued test slight pos barely showing, waited overnight and did a second school issued test definitive Pos. I was suss so gave him one of my work tests (Oz Made) Negative.
Off for a PCR, whilst waiting for results next morning another set of RAT's Chinese made Pos, Oz made Neg.
Same again in the afternoon, third test Chinese made Pos, Oz made Neg.
PCR test negative after 48Hrs +
There are a lot his mates who tested Pos this week and are asymptomatic, isolating along with their family this week based solely on their RAT tests.

I know where in Vic, so our Govt reveres Xi, but **** why don't and can't we support local.

Hilarious. We are buying these test kits using tax payer dollars from the country that created and leaked the virus (only a probable cause not definitive). Win win for them.

Unbelievable isn't it, a friend bought a pack at a small town servo and couldn't read the instructions as it was in mandarin or cantanese or whatever the hell it was. Our government both state and federal are
