What lifts me up.

avoiding all mainstream news including any 24/7 feeds. Avoiding all commercial television and some quiet time every day. Get in the water everyday.
Make sure you have a good laugh with friends and family as well. Cause life's a really funny joke when it all comes down to it.

Or could it be that the cart is being driven by the camera opp from the left hand drive seat and the extra wheel is merely there to keep the ape entertained?? Either way an interesting clip.

Good point. My grandmother used to tell me she felt sorry for my generation as things in the world were so bad. This is from a woman that has gone through world war 2, the great depression, nuclear threats, and no doubt all sorts of epidemics.

No, she was just watching the news every day and little else. It concentrates things down and you think the world is doomed. I think I was/am lucky living in a time when things in Aus are pretty good for most people.

I am also watching 'muster dogs' on the ABC. Much nicer to watch cool dogs than depressing news!

Surely nobody watches the psyop news anymore... trying to manipulate, demoralise and scare you 24/7.

I went for a nice 40km bike ride yesterday evening, apart from some couples taking up the whole cycle lane while listening to their earpods, it was nice wtaching/listening to the parrots and birds, smelling the flowers, watchng the dogs play in the water... there was a strong easterly on the ride back which puffed me out.

If bulldogs can drive a skate board it's likely an Orange Utan could drive a golf cart

While I don't agree on removing animals from the wild much less destroying their habitat... Hana and Kotaro seem to have better lives than most pets.

Thanks for that. It clearly spells out the hokus pokus we are being fed.

Cool. Another thread to get deleted!

I recently started reading 'The Great Influenza' which is a book written about the 1918 flu epidemic. It's a bit hard going as there is so much information in there.

It was written in 2004, so clearly precedes the current problem.

So far some of the things I found interesting are the comments from people and politicians at the time. These are similar to "It's okay, It is just the old flu", "you won't get it if you eat the right foods and are not malnourished", and many comments of "it's over, you can return to normal" before it was even over. I guess politicians wanted it to be over in order for normality to return.

It shows you that human nature is human nature. People want to believe the best, even when facing something serious.

This was a flu where some people went from perfectly healthy to dead within hours. People went blue because of the lack of oxygen getting into their blood because their lungs were so ruined. People were saying the Black Death had returned as people went so blue.

They went through three waves where the first was relatively okay, the second very aggressive, and the third milder than the second. It seems Australia was relatively lucky in this in that the virus never really made much impact until the third wave.

One of the other interesting things it talks about is that the flu virus (not a corona virus) is a 'mutating storm' where there are so many mutations all the time that it changes quickly. Other viruses keep a certain element about them that the immune system (and vaccines) can identify them by, but the flu changes these, making immunity quite difficult.

Being something that happened before the modern spread of information, I guess it highlights that when these things strike it is difficult to predict what is going to happen and that opinions about what to do are all over the place and the right things to do are only really settled after the fact.

I don't know how this got into a golf-buggy driving orangutang thread though.

Pls stay on topic then, "Things that lift you up when life throws you a curve ball" :).

I especially like GreenPat's lift up, nothing quite like an infectious histerical laugh from a 2-4yr old.

Yeah, I know, even the "Atty. Dr Fuellmich: Opening Statement to a Grand Jury on Crimes Against Humanity Nuremberg 2.0 Trial" - couldn't get a laugh from me.

I mean, I get it, laugh at how crazy these people are, but not exactly a laugh for everyone is it
