If you click on something Youtube keeps throwing up same but better videos in the sidebar. Any body else stuck in a loop of monster wave videos?

Omg I literally just watched that and I never watch YouTube just for the sake of watching videos. Crazy timing!

No thanks Mr Decrepit!

I've seen what that's done to few seemingly intelligent friends!

Which was a good point raised by that social media / internet doco

The suggestions of things you will like has created people who get more and more radical politically or hooked on CT stuff as they never see the other side. Its a real problem

I have a few channels that I watch regularly, but also watch others that are recomended at times.

I don't "LIKE" or give a random channel a thumbs up, because that seeems to have me flooded with the rest of the channel as recomendations.

I do feel that the content creators on Utoob have started to go elsewhere or given up, any suggestions to where they went?

My first thought: they must be tearing around Antarctica looking for bad hombres. I read the narration on UT, and I was pretty close

I often do YouTube binges instead of watching TV, there's just so much amazing contend to see. Whether it's science, tech, nature, social, or extreme anything.

I'd like to see an 'opposite' button that shows you video recommendations that the algorithm thinks you would never want to see. Could help you uncover new areas of interest.

The opposite button just shows spring flowers, babbling brooks and old women sitting on park benches; dead boring. But every now and again Vicpol shows up to intimidate the old ladies, and that's worth a watch.

Probably because they were demonetised because it didnt concur with the new lords of societal architecture. There is one called . i think odesse . not sure of the spelling.

but nothing can compete with its monopoly of eyeballs network of people power, after all that is its currency - peoples attention, the network it creates and the algorithms designed to capture and maintain this attention. Hard to compete with that.
