Tip for Telstra users!
Make sure you regularly call them and ask for any updated plans, I was on $69 with 40gb down load and after a long phone call my plan was changed to $69 with 60 gb down load. Cheeky buggers!
I've found they have automatically upgraded me on home internet and mobile plans in the past.
Really ? Not in the 10 years I have been with them on a mobile plan have had the occasional call when I wasn't looking at upgrading! Now I have 60gb to burn through in 14 days for this month.

Me too and that's partly why I stay with them. Very few companies reward loyalty but seems they do.
My internet a while back went from 100Gb to 200Gb for no reason, then a year later 400, then a couple years later unlimited. Every time they just told me I'd been upgraded for no cost.
Credit where its due.

i have lived off the grid for 10 years now. I have not paid electricity bill or land line since I sold the house and went off grid , this is why I use mobile data.
This thread popped up at the very same time my "Tech savvy" son in law was on 'live chat' to TELSTRA. He had looked at our "bill" and was horrified, 5 devices (2 tablets, 2 phones and a 'dongle) with **** poor data allowance and over priced, plus extra data charges every month.
Now for $50 a month less, (guaranteed, no additional data charges) Wife has new phone and 150 gig per month, phone can be used for us to access both tablets, dongle data for my lap top/work increased by 25 gig per month (no extra cost), my new phone (wifes old one) on the cheapest of plans as I only use it for texts and calls.
Am I happy? Yes, but if not for SinL we would have just been carrying on as normal and paying for sub standard performance.
We don't really know if we're getting a good deal or great service as there's little competition with equal infrastructure to base it on
basically Telstra have it and us stitched up nicely compared to most other countries
Compared to most other countries?????
Australia is a "third world country" when it comes to internet speed and streaming capability.
Nobody downloads movies etc anymore do they?? Why bother if you can stream it??
I'm in Nepal at the moment if you want to talk about 3rd world Internet and phone...
On Telstra roaming

Visited my elderly parents last Christmas. They pay $500/month for internet, 2x mobile phones, and 3x business numbers.
Telstra representative sold them the top-tier plan where they rent (yes, really) the very latest phones with maximum data and the like. Ditto the internet plan.
They use practically nothing, of course. "App Store? Where is that? I don't want to travel far. No, no I don't want email on my phone it will fill it up and make it slow."
I had to go across to the shop for a word with the guy.

I think they did that across the board for premium customers to combat NBN. It's kind of a loyalty reward, but also more aimed at not being caught out by you eventually checking your plan, realising you are way behind on service for $ and you getting peed off and ditching them for someone else.
