My mate had his own workshop & just as a cutesy noticed a dint in the fuel tank so grabed spot welder off panelbeaters it spot welded a stud on for a puller to pull out the dint but unfortunately that blow up the fuel tank set fire to car broke his nose & burnt him a little bit.
he also had a car fall of hoist went sideways crushed roof on hoist & side of car on ground . Which isnt funny because I did have a friend who was killed like that as a third year apprentice.

You sure it wasn't that video above I posted? ![]()
Sure Ive seen a couple of cars burn at workshop especially panel beaters they weld & interior catches fire
He continues to try and start the motor after catching fire? amazing
Then he blows oxygen on it?
Then he tries to put out a petrol fire with water?
Well .............where do i start ! ,............................ No I cant repeat the story's , i need to protect the innocent.....me !
we have had a number of problems with work done on a couple of different cars over the last couple of years .
ranging from a minor problem [ if there is such a thing when talking cars !],.......... to catastrophic engine failure after a major service had just been completed .
I think the problem lies in the complicated systems ! and large variety of brands. I never had a drama back in the bad old days with 6os and 70s model cars the mechanics just fixed stuff and it stayed fixed . All they had to know was Holden ,ford, vw and valiant. These days we have certificate 111 level tradesmen supervising [or should i say hopefully supervising ] apprentices working on a system akin to a computerized formula 1 car .......... They cant do the work !!!!!!!!
Its a nightmare !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Twice now after a service with Nissian they failed to tighten the sump nut ( whatever you call it) I dumped a heap of oil on a clients newly concreated drive and a nice little puddle on mine. In fairness to nissian they came out twice to pressure wash the drives and gave me my next service for free. I will be certain to check underneath before I leave
Going back a fair while now, I had an alpha with a noisy gearbox. Took it to the Alpha and Saab dealers of the time, to fit new bearings. They called me back in and showed me a synchro gear with a missing tooth, quoted an extra $500 to fix it. I couldn't afford that, so decided to take it easy with the old one until I could. A year or so later, I bought a wreck, and decided to swap the synchro gear over myself. When I took the gear box apart, I was very surprised to see totally different looking synchros, that were all intact!!!! I suspect the one they showed me was out of a Saab not an Alpha at all.
After my last major service with Nissan on my navara $950.00 they fitted an oil filter with so much dirt around the O ring it leaked everywhere. Never will I let the children at Nissan to service my car again!
