I thought it was disgraceful that the Sydney crowd booed every time Billy Slater ,one of the greatest players of all time, touched the ball or when his name was broadcast such as in the parade of retiring players.
SHAME Sydney
Agreed it was very unsporting of the Sydney crowd. But it was simply an NRL business decision. Billy could have copped his one match and not played but maybe the NRL thought that it would be bad business by not letting him play so they let him play so he would cop all the krap and they could roll around in the money they made from ticket sales. Either way there was only ever going to be one loser and that's Billy, a very unfortunate end to an amazing career.
