Long time surfer who lost his pop up stance probably 2 year ago due to bone on bone, tried supping last summer which helped not having to pop up so much!
Decided towards end of summer to endure some pain /rehab to continue my love for the ocean.
Any info /encouragement happily accepted !

Hey. As a Physio having looked after hundreds of hip replacement the return to surfing will depend on a few factors. Age does play a part. You will need a good rehab to get better than the average hip mobility.
Are you having an anterior or posterior approach?
Dont return too early. The hip is unstable in the first 3-4 months and you don't want to dislocate it and surfing is a risk in that first few months.
Message me if you want any more info.

a fellow long boarder who has had 1 hip done is back in the water and surfing as good as ever , 3 months of rehab which you have to 100% comply .
