I have been a big fan of podcasts and I love listening to surf podcasts on the drive to the beach.
These things come and go and I would appreciate a discussion on which ones are good, especially advice on new ones.
Even dead podcasts can be worth listening to.
My favourite ones are ones that do not spend lots of time on WSL current contest results:
1. Surf Simply (dead)
Based in Costa Rica this one has been moved to YouTube. The episodes that are available are timeless.
2. Surf Mastery
Based on the Northern Beaches, NSW. This one has slowed lately but it talks to interesting surf coaches.
3. Lipped
Based in Tourquay Vic. The wetsuit review episodes are good. Mostly they catch the feeling of surf stoke.
4. Ain't that Swell
Similar to Lipped but over do it a bit on the surf stoke.
5. Surf Splendor
Based in California. Search on the internet, not iTunes, for the list of podcasts organised by David Scales, there are quite a few, living and dead.
I have others that I listen to, but do not recommend.
Do you recommend any?
The Occy interviews are entertaining, he has a way!
Shood,
I will look again at the Occ-Cast. It used to be a favourite but in the last year or two I have listened to too many people saying he is breaks a bunch of rules about interviewing. Perhaps the conversational style is appropriate.
I was really surprised that he did not use his podcast to promote Surf Lakes.
Anyway, his audio podcasts seemed to be taking a back seat to the Billabong YouTube channel.
There should be a Occ-Cast YouTube channel.
