It's been at least 10 years since i've been there and previously only as a passenger but has anyone been there recently? I don't remember the track in being that bad other than corrugations?
Will a standard prado with AT tyres be ok? Looking to take my best mate and our kids out on a day trip whilst we're up that way in a weeks time but i don't want to say lets go if it's too hard on his car or we are going to spend all day digging ourselves out of soft sand.
I'm assuming it's now a well worn track with plenty of people around given how busy it was in the 90's & 00's when i was fishing there.
If no rain then it's crapola, then when it rains they try and get in to grade it,
Phone the shire for an update
the coro sections can be brutal in spots, rule is if you get over the 1st hill you'll make the second, really low pressure and give it shidt
you have to phone the ranger at steep point as a courtesy as not the best place for a head on, love the sections where your picking up shoreline views n drives, stunning spot and one of my fave places

I pulled my dingy in on my old triton, fully loaded for a Dirk Hartog fish / Kite / camp , was a bit of a mission but I've done it plenty of times, enjoy
If your struggling for info
drop Kieran at dirk Hartog an email, he gets feedback from the fishos getting on the barge for dirk Hartog trips
