How summer is coming and plenty of hard work to do outside.
Our head/brain is probably first to overheat and fail in hyperthermia conditions. So cooling it down provide not only comfort but also life saving.
My hard hut is still at prototype stage,
but works fine and hard already for me 4 years...
standard computer fan 12V , low noise, big airflow, less power consumption

powered by 2 x lithium batteries 18650 providing 7.2Vbattery last for whole working 8h day or two days
planned upgrade to solar panel to recharge battery,
provide indefinite run time outside,
small protecting board $2 device needed to protect battery from over / diss/ charging.
So far I could not find anything already professionally designed and build on the market.
Some Chinese made huts with small and noisy fan at the front. Get one of eBay, but doesn't do job.
PS. I agree already with all my critics. This idea is so obvious that should be available at Bunnings already, with some professional design improvements obviously.

Funny images already exists... I guess there's no words permitted in there though for the accompanying story.
You're about 1,000 years too late Macro.
Evidence of your 'hut' can be found in allsorts of medieval texts.

Effective protection from the helmet has been completely compromised... and now there is a hard object put right between your head and the falling branch that is going to hit your helmet... ![]()

It's a prototype. It can be beefed up to pass the Australian standards.
The real question is much cooler does it keep you? Does it outperform the standard issue Bunnings straw hat for keeping your head cool?

Actually the Bunnings hat is used here as a housing rather then protection from impact.
Pro design could channel the airstream without the need for compromising structural safety of the hard hut, but for my needs it is already more then adequate. Fan could be moved to the back or sides and air channeled.
Idea could be used with straw hut as well but in mine environment will not last long.
When you need to perform hard work outside or inside, the head is really , really sweating a lot.
So enforced air flow increase perspiration and it is very effective for me.
Possibly the lack of excessive hair may help too.![]()
Luxury version could come even with misting nozzle and spray water.
I imagine the well made device like that could find also use for firefighters and army soldiers.
Effectives of head cooling may also be explained by human physiology.
Our scalp is very well supply with blood circulation, sweat glands and brain also produce quite a lot of energy ( not only muscle).
As example my serve Cheetah- the will die from brain overheating, when running.
Idea is easy to test for everybody, just point a fan toward sweaty head and feel instant relief.
In ideal world we could have dozen people jumping out with improvements ideas,
making their own prototypes in garages, showing improvements .
Because some people just have a talent , skills and equipment even education to make things nice, works better.
So lets take that presented idea lightly with some humor.
I think that mod Larry agree with me that there are better things to do on our forum that posting constant critics, abuse and personal fight.
Lets have some fun too![]()
Better still , if you had a windmill on top turning a generator powering the fan , all you would need to do is run. Free cooling, your welcome.

So, yes to the constant abuse or no? Do we need to turn it into an antivax thing or is that no longer okay?
What I think would be 'cooler' is a centrifugal fan that rotates around your head and draws in air from the top. It won't be more efficient but it will look so intimidating to anyone else that sees you with this whirring thing in a helmet. You should be able to see out of it fine and it may even deflect hits from a light saber.
Yeah, yeah, your idea has been done to death and this guy even used it as transport!
I was at the festival in the 80s and saw a dude with a solar powered fan cooled pith hat. I thought it was a good idea. So the idea has been around for a very long time. Anyway, keep up the good work Macro. Yes, lack of hair makes the nut sweat profusely. A little air flow makes a big difference.
